The Future I Desire

It was the 16th President of the United States of America, the late Abraham Lincoln who said, "The best way to predict the future is to create it". As a secondary school student, and a girl from a very humble Tanzanian family, there is only one question that used to strike my mind and never left me in peace; the question was none other than "What does the future hold for me", what will be the destiny of my life after my school life is over.

It was after a long time of thinking and study that I came to understand that, every individual hopes to have a good life, and the good life we desire will never come to us by chance rather we have to take steps to create it.

If you are a student, and you wish to create your future be a good listener; listen to those who have already achieved whatever that you want to achieve. Have role models, mentors, and learn from them; take time to identify the things they did to be where they are today and follow in their footsteps. Learn from setbacks and never accept defeat no matter how many times you happen to fail, this is the only way you can create your future rather than just sitting tight and wait for it to happen.

If you are a teacher, and you have a dream of becoming so successful economically, it can be very difficult for you to do so, especially in Tanzania because the salary is very low. But still, if you will be creative and work hard for the dream you have you can still make it. As a teacher who wishes to become successful economically my question to you is, Do you have any other source of income other than your salary? If the answer is no, why not?

For some the reason might be, "We don't have enough time because we spend the whole day at school", but they say If something is important you will make time for it; so I believe you can still find time to engage yourselves in other economic activity so that you can be able to achieve the dreams that you have and create the future that you have always desired.

This is me, in the photo (Aisha Hassan) with my friend who is the best student in our school Innocent Nassari learning together after class hours. As a person who wishes to create my own future and not just waits for it, I have learned to Manage myself as one of the important Habits, and Learning together with my fellows because no one knows everything and in the course of creating my own future I have learned not to be afraid or shy to ask for help when I need one.

"Your dream is possible and the future you want is in your hands"

"Why I Love My School"

It's 5:00am and the alarm from my watch rings, upon opening my eyes I hear the sounds of birds from a very quiet morning at Mtakuja Secondary School, It's another exciting school day. I wake up, I get ready and go for the morning devotion to thank God for the brand new day. After the morning devotion, I go straight to the class for private morning studies to remind myself of the concepts that I learned about in the previous day.  At 8:00am is when the normal classes officially begin, my mentors get into the class and we start learning. I normally love class time, and this is because at Mtakuja Secondary School we use  Quest Forward as a learning platform. Quest Forward Learning is a learning platform that emphasizes on the acquisition of skills, habits, and mindset.  what's so interesting about Quest Forward Learning is, as learners we can still work on our own even in the absence of our mentors, this was evident during the COVID-19 Pandemic where all schools in Ta...
